from the Photo Lab

Friday is back and so is the 52 Weeks project is a creative blog ring in which a group of fellow pet photographers post their photographic interpretation of the week’s theme and link to each other’s blog. Start here and click on the link at the bottom of this post to jump to the next photographer’s blog, follow the ring until you end up back here.

This week’s theme: Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. There are no gifts involved, and the rush of the holidays is not yet surrounding us (until the next day). It is just about good company and good food, and being thankful for both. Most of all, I am thankful for time with loved ones, both human, canine and feline, for we never know when that precious time will run out.

This year, we had 8 great friends at our table and five dogs at our feet. One of them, Olivia, the gorgeous Great Dane from dane + dane studios (you might recognize her from our Critter~a~Month series) became quite close to Corbin. They would often snooze together in the sunlight. I am glad I had the camera nearby that day.

Let’s now follow the blog ring and visit photographer Karla Ogilvie. Hi Karla!

  1. Dana Cubbage says:

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday too! We missed out on the traditional dinner due to traveling so I was a bit bummed about that. Glad you guys had a great time and that’s so cool that Olivia + Nichole were able to join you guys. She’s awesome. Hope you guys are doing well!

  2. Karla says:

Lovely photos that capture what Thanksgiving is all about: family and friends.

  3. Judy says:

Love the photo of Olivia and Corbin. They look so contented to be with each other.
